How Bora uses your data

Short version: your health details stay on your phone. If you opt in, we keep an anonymous record of your visits so we can tell whether Bora is actually useful. You can be deleted any time.

What stays on your device

Your profile (age, weight, height, sex, goal, budget), your allergies, your daily check-ins, your meal history and ratings, all of it is stored in your own browser, not on our servers.

What we store on our server (only if you opt in)

A random ID for your device, not your name, email, or anything about who you are
When you asked for picks, and roughly how you were doing (e.g. "recovery: moderate"), never your raw health numbers
Which three meals we showed, and which one you tapped or rated

We deliberately never store your allergies or your raw biometrics (sleep scores, heart rate) in these records.

Why

Two reasons: to see whether people come back (whether Bora is worth building), and to make recommendations better over time. Nothing is sold or shared with anyone, the data lives on our hosting provider and is only read by the two people building Bora.

How long, and your rights

Raw records are kept for up to 3 months, then reduced to anonymous statistics. Want out? Tell us and we delete every record for your device ID within 7 days, and you can keep using Bora either way. Opting in is optional and never required.
